About Joseph

Joseph Ryu’s life mission is to direct hearts to faithfulness, holiness, and passion for Christ. Currently a pastoral intern at Cornerstone Church and pursuing ordination in the CRCNA, he lives in New York and is married to his lovely wife, Mirim, and is father to two beautiful children.

Since having a radical encounter with God at age 19, Joseph has devoted his life to living for Jesus. Since then, God led him all over the world to share the Gospel of Jesus to people of all ages, door to door, on the streets, in churches, as well as lecture halls on college campuses. His greatest passion is building up the local church and equipping Christians for spiritual growth, evangelism and missions.

Joseph is a M.Div graduate from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a B.A. from Rutgers University. He is also a Ministry Partner at Commons NYC, a ministry helping to connect college students to healthy communities in New York City.

A life on mission

  • Building the Church

God’s primary means to fulfill His mission of salvation on earth is through His church, the body of Christ.

  • Raising Disciples

Jesus Christ calls us to live a life of absolute surrender to Him and be devoted to His sovereign will by leading others to do the same.

  • Joining God's Mission

The Holy Spirit was given to us primarily so that we might live in obedience to God by joining God’s mission of salvation in the world.

With hands outstretched in surrender, I committed my life to full-time ministry.

Faith requires that God give us more than we can handle.
