Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Psalm 90:14
In February of 2020, my wife and I were soon to have our first child and so we decided to go on a short babymoon to celebrate. Little did we know that the following month, COVID-19 would sweep the country and everything would shut down.
For our babymoon, I booked us to attend a little known conference called “Linger Conference” organized by Shane & Shane and the Worship Initiative. My wife was initially not so thrilled for it but as soon as we attended our first session, there we were, almost as if we did not realize how starved we were for the presence of God. For the Christian, a heart of worship restored is worth more than anything money could buy, let alone a weekend at a fancy resort. It was exactly what we needed most.
At the conference, Shane & Shane also introduced a new song called “Psalm 90” which still resonates in our hearts to this day. It is a prayer of Moses that recognizes our impermanence, our insignificance, our frailty and need but then lifts our eyes to the power and might and goodness and glory and beauty and love of God.
