A House of Mercy

Through the passage in John 5:1-16, we see that true worship begins with mercy, and the house of God is a house of mercy. It’s not a place for flawless rituals or self-righteousness, but a refuge for the broken, the outcast, and the needy. The sermon reminds us that just as Jesus sought out the forgotten and overlooked at the Pool of Bethesda, we too are called to embody "hesed"—steadfast love and compassion—by extending grace to those around us, recognizing our own need for mercy, and allowing it to shape our worship and our lives.
